David Beckham is famed for his sometimes daring approach to fashion and he appears to have been inspired by the fifties for his latest look.
The football superstar, 35, unveiled the slicked back hairdo during an appearance at a basketball game in Los Angeles.
He sported the new cut at a game between the LA Lakers and the New Orleans Hornets at the Staples Centre.

Becks complimented his throwback hairstyle with a James Dean-style plain grey T-shirt, perfectly suited to the retro cut.
David was the centre of attention during the game, chatting with various famous faces including billionaire entrepreneur Philip Frederick Anschutz, comedy actor Will Ferrell and president of AEG Tim Leiweke.
The new haircut is bound to be replicated by men around the globe, just like his previous fashion choices.

Becks has become something of a fashion icon after his early flawed attempts, including his ridiculous sarong back in 1998 and his braids in 2003.
He has since banished such faux pas to the depths of fashion hell, consistently helping to propagate new styles - probably thanks, in part, to his wife Victoria.
Meanwhile, various stars from the worlds of film and music helped fill out the front row at the NBA match.

Drew Barrymore, 36, put on a very public display of affection with her beau Will Kopelman, 33.
The couple looked completely content in one another's company during the game and even shared a kiss in full view of the crowd.
Also present was Oscar-winning actor and director Tom Hanks. The Hollywood superstar was accompanied by his wife Rita Wilson courtside for the match, which ended with the Lakers snatching victory 87 points to 78.

Midway through he took time out for a chat with Disney actor Zac Efron, 23, who was at the playoff match with his younger brother Dylan.
At one point Efron struggled to hide his joy as he was surrounded by cheerleaders.
The previous night the actor, who is rumoured to be dating Victoria's Secret model Candice Swanepoel, was spotted in the crowd at British rapper-turned-singer Plan B's concert at the El Ray Theatre in LA.
A-Team star Bradley Cooper, 36, looked a far cry from his usual hunky self in a pair of NHS-style glasses.
Rapper Lil Wayne, Will Ferrell and actor Jason Bateman also made up the celebrity numbers at the game.
David also made a couple of new friends recently when he appeared on kids' TV show Phineas and Ferb.
